As for the snow, we have plenty. Seemed as though some of the prior forecasts for large snowfalls fell short of their anticipated depth, but this past one came through as predicted. We have thoroughly enjoyed our outings on the awesome groomed trails. As we have explored new territories under Eric’s guidance, we almost always return home saying “That route could be my new favorite!” Thank you to the crews that are grooming and keeping the trails in tip top shape. This is the Fishing Lakes Trail area east of Tower. What an enjoyable area!
Admittedly the large amount of snow of the lake and some lingering slush have left us less than eager to park the sleds and sit in the shack. We came across the lake a few times today and found the lake trails to be much smoother with the new snow. There are still large areas of considerable slush to be mindful of but many of the trails that were battling open creeks have finally firmed up and been groomed.
Looking ahead to spring, there are some weeks that have just one spot open, so if you are close to locking in your trip and it falls the week of May 23rd, June 6th, June 13th, June 20th or August 8th, the sooner the better. Otherwise there are more choices during other times of the season. We look forward to seeing our Chicago guests and hope to hear from you soon.
Stop wishing…come fishing!
