Mixed bag of fish for July 13th Lake Vermilion fishing news
John Stacey caught this 20.25" Lake Vermilion smallmouth bass This past week our guests again enjoyed a mixed bag of fish, with both larger and eater size walleyes being caught and lots of bass action, especially smallmouth bass. There were many cabins that ate fish here and took some home. While there were muskies seen, a few cold nights and water temps that fell instead of rising have delayed the hot action we [...]

Craig Pffeifer caught and released this wide 37" Lake Vermilion Northern. Craig Pfeifer caught and released this 37" Lake Vermilion northern. While out in the boat alone he found a way to get the big fish in his un-extended net, but I am guessing he made sure the net was ready every time he went out after that. Lots of fish being cleaned. That's the short end of the update. In addition, this past week found Bob Kmoch, one of our favorite Smallmouth Bass guys, catching and releasing his usual numbers. He estimated at least 18 that were 18 inches or bigger for the week, and started out boating 25 smallies the evening he arrived. His largest was 4.5 pounds, and he added a 41.5" northern and some walleyes in the mix as [...]
Lake Vermilion Fishing Report June 6, 2014
That's a nice Lake Vermilion early June walleye As another week winds down, time to summarize this past week's catch. In general, there were many cabins that enjoyed several fish fry's along with the chance to catch, photo and release a lot of nice fish, as evidenced by the following list. It started as early as Saturday night for Dale & Rod, who kept a nice batch for the frying pan leaving the [...]
