2016 Lake Vermilion fishing is in the books at Everett Bay Lodge
Kay Hawley with one of several Fall Lake Vermilion smallies. 2016 Lake Vermilion fishing is in the books at Everett Bay Lodge with our last guests enjoying some excellent fall weather. As September came to an end with some windy conditions, the start of October was perfect and many guests did very well on the lake. Unfortunately for the Casper crew they fished the early part of the week and although [...]
Lots of limits on Lake Vermilion
Lots of limits of eater walleyes were caught on Lake Vermilion as the end of September approaches. Toss in the "too big to keep" fish that were released and overall it was a pretty decent week for many of our guests. The transition to fall deep spots has started and trolling crank-baits produced a good number of fish. Had some self-proclaimed bass anglers get into walleyes on Sunday, and it led to a week of several [...]
Lake Vermilion mid-September fishing
Lake Vermilion mid-September fishing news has varied, with some guests doing very well on walleyes and jumbo perch while others have spent their time chasing muskies. While muskies have been seen in both weeds and on the rocks, they have been reluctant to bite in most cases. Dan Andrews was able to boat a couple - a 47" and a 45"- but those were the recent muskie highlights. Guests who were targeting northerns had [...]
Lake Vermilion late summer fishing
Lake Vermilion late summer fishing produced mixed results for our guests this past week. The Lannings described it as a good week of fishing, with 3 muskies, plenty of smallies, some northerns and lastly walleyes for the skillet. Seemed like there were days that were kind of tough for everyone, and then days when several cabins did well, but they had to put their time in. We snuck out mid-day for a couple hours around [...]
Late August Lake Vermilion fishing
Late August Lake Vermilion fishing produced good results for many of our guests this past week. The muskie action was a little more consistent with several fish over 40" caught as well as some under 40" too. The walleye bite was pretty good throughout the week once the cold front effects passed, with crawlers continuing to be the preferred bait. Several cabins ate MANY fish meals and were able to reload their limits to take [...]
Lake Vermilion fishing mid August
Lake Vermilion fishing mid August found most of last week's guests doing well. Some PR muskies were caught, like the 52" caught by Mark Presnail, and a good number of guests made daily trips to the bait house to clean their catch of Lake Vermilion walleyes. There were several walleyes too big to keep, but eater size walleyes and perch were plentiful, with several guests reporting eating fish every day and replenishing their limits to [...]
