Thanks to all who stopped by our booth at the St. Paul show. It was great to see familiar faces, and we enjoyed meeting several new guests who will heading up to Everett Bay Lodge this season. After several days of enjoying the upnorth snow with some snowmobiling and ice fishing, mother nature is making it easy to hit the road and spend the latter part of the week inside. The 2017 Chicagoland Fishing, Travel & Outdoor Expo kicks off Thursday at the Schaumburg Convention Center. We are looking forward to meeting up with family and touching base with many of our Chicagoland guests.
The phone continues to ring with requests for ice updates, and the best word to describe things is SLOPPY. A ride across the bay on the snowmobiles yesterday found many inches of slush nearly everywhere, and setting water in places too. Trails were passable, but large puddles were scattered. The continued above freezing temperatures today and the intermittent sprinkles haven’t done anything to improve conditions. The dam is pouring a good amount of water into the lake, so barring something unusual, spring water levels will be high.
Spots continue to fill for the upcoming season, and we have just 3 cabins left for the month of June. July and August spots are starting to fill as well, with some weeks down to just one or two spots. If you are pondering a trip this season, now is the time to get your favorite cabin and preferred time-frame.
Stop wishing…..Come fishing.
