As the regular season winds down, as usual, the walleyes get bigger and one needn't travel far. Cloud cover and a.m. or evening windows have been the most productive, with our guests doing best on crawlers. Not much change since the past week. Walleyes are still in intermediate depths, mainly 18 - 24 feet, either rock or sand/mud bottom. The past week was noteworthy for its cooler than normal temperatures, with a couple nights falling down below 40 degrees. As one would guess, the fishing was inconsistent, with a mix of "eater" walleyes, some jumbo perch and nice smallies among those caught. Muskie action picks up as the week progressed.
