Memorial Day Weekend brought sporadic weather and fishing as well.  While everyone who went out caught fish, much of Saturday was spent looking up at the clouds trying to decide how much time there was between stormy bouts.  Both the fishing and the weather were more cooperative on Sunday.  Jessie Carlson, of Burnsville, caught and released a nice 28.5″ walleye, and the rest of his crew up in the big house caught enough for each guy in the boat to limit out.  They enjoyed a fish fry Sunday evening.  Mark & Brian Custer spent their usual week with us.  They know how to catch walleyes.  One outing they boated 15, 5 which were keepers, 10 which were big ones.  They brought a first time Vermilion fisherman with them, and his first two fish were a 23″ & 20″ walleye.  Brian caught a 3.5 lb smallie and Mark reported they caught 3 different species every day.

Twelve year old David Majewski made his first up north fishing trip with his dad & uncle, and caught a nice 3 lb smallie.   They too found some eater walleyes.

A stretch of nights where the temps will stay over 40 degrees is finally upon us, so hopefully the water temps will continue to heat up creating a more stable fishing pattern.
