Lake Vermilion fishing action continues to produce a nice variety of fish.  Several cabins reported weeks of fishing above their expectations, like the Korolewskis, who ate walleyes every day they were here, crediting their first day outing with a recommended guide for helping them narrow down their hunt on this first time trip to Lake Vermilion.  More interested in the Lake Vermilion bass fishing, James and Laura Rush honed in on the smallies and caught every day, with a shorter day on Friday being their best day, catching 45 fish and Laura’s description of it being her “best small mouth bass fishing ever!”  Matt Hewett was described as the guy who’s boat was always the first to leave the docks in the morning – he didn’t see  a lot of muskies, but he boated 4, all over 40″.   The Fitzgerald crew had their annual fishing contest with Jeff and Dave retaining top team honors.

Some of the fish our guests caught and released include:

Walleyes:  22″ Zach Brennan

Muskies:  49.5″ Matt Hewett, 49″ Matt Hewett, 44″ Matt Hewett, 40″ Matt Hewett

Smallmouth Bass:  19.5″ James Rush, 19″ Bill Fitzgerald

Northern:  33″ Jeff Wenc, 33″ Dave Sue, 31″ James Rush

Thanks to those who chose to spend last week with us.  It was great to see many familiar faces and we enjoyed getting to know several new guests as well.  If you are pondering one more trip north before the season winds down, let’s get it set up!  Looking further ahead, 2017 spots are starting to go as well – lock up your preferred cabin and dates if you know what you want.

Stop wishing…..come fishing!
