2017 season winds down for us on Lake Vermilion as we are wrapping up the winterizing of cabins, pulling docks and storing boats.  The last part of September was good for several guests, like the Schulmeisters, who ate lots of fish as they caught their walleye limits all but one of their days here, primarily trolling crankbaits.  Lon caught his PR smallie, a 21.25″; Some of the other late September nice ones included a 4 lb smallie by Rick Boers, a 5 lb. largemouth bass by Jerry Lovell, a 24″ walleye by Josh Solarz and a 23″ walleye by Kyle Engebretson.  We headed out after lunch one afternoon and spent about 3 hours catching good numbers, keeping a batch of 2 limits of walleyes that were some of the best we caught all season.  The bait of choice was crawlers in 23 – 26 fow.

Thanks to Lon for sharing a few of his pictures:

With another great season in the books, the calendar is filling in for the 2018 season, with a good number of returning guests all set for next year.  If you are one of the many who said you plan to return but had to sort out your dates, now is the time.  The big mailing goes out in a few weeks, and the phone really starts to ring then.   Hope to hear from you soon and THANKS FOR A TERRIFIC SEASON.

Stop wishing…Come fishing!
