We've gotten a lot of rain in the past
couple of weeks. The lake is up a foot. Coolness has dropped
the water temps into the the fifties. Some big walleyes have
been caught recently in deeper water on minnows.
A couple of big muskies were boated this
past week. A 52 and a 53 1/2. The 53 1/2 broke Craig
Schlapper's muskie rod into three pieces on the hookset, but
he still managed to boat the fish. A few nice northern that
were in the mid 30's were also boated.
We've been out in the grouse woods a
few times and it's awfully wet right now. Things will
improve as it gets cooler and dries out. The fall colors are
really starting to show.
