The mayflies have picked up this past
week and the walleye and bass action has slowed somewhat. It
just means that you have to work harder to get your fish.
The fish are starting to move to the summer spots. Water
temps are close to 70 on big water.
Smallmouth seem to be post spawn this
past week, but started to improve by late in the week.
Bluegill and largemouth have been good on calmer days on
leeches or crawlers.
Don't have much to report on muskies.
I've seen one fish in my forays into the weeds this week.
Haven't tried rocks; I'm betting they're there.
A report in our local paper yesterday,
The Mesabi Daily News, has the lake level now close
to the record high recorded in 2001. What a difference two
months can make.
