The warm summer weather continues with
highs between 75 and 80 for several days now. Water surface
temps have stayed at 70 degrees. This has been good for the
muskie movements. Muskies continue to be caught in shallow
water for the most part. Dave Mason just caught a 45" and
Rob Brown released a 42" northern. I released a 45" and a
31" this week. Thanks goes to Jim Carow who gave me advice
on strikes at the boat. It worked great on that 45.
Bass have been good during some of the
windy sunny days. Crankbaits have been working on points.
Kevin Hoffman and Darrell Hoffman each released 18 1/2-19"
smallmouth. Mike Harrington released an 18" smallmouth. I
released a 19" smallie off a Topraider.
Walleyes have been good mostly during
low pressure days. Inconsistent during the high pressure
days. One day walleyes go good on a high pressure day, the
next day maybe not so good until a window opens in the
morning or evening. Terry Pinkas released a couple of 20-22"
walleye last week and Nick Rahn released a 20.
