Weather Slows Bite

2006-08-05

It seems the week's weather disturbances has slowed the bite a bit. Last Sunday it rained hard all day. Walleyes have been caught this week on shallow weed lines and flats but nothing has been consistent. Water temps have dropped to 70 at the surface. Sharon Jerndt released a 20 and a 23.

Bass have been caught on 8-10 ft. drops with cranks and tubes. Nothing extremely large for smallmouth. Bill and Kevin Fitzgerald released two that were nice 18" largemouth. Bill also release a nice 40" northern caught with a spinner bait.

Muskie have slowed down some from our perspective. Many fish were seen but few were put in the boat. Tom Maki has boated a 39 and a 41 since Saturday. The wind and weather should be better over the next few days and maybe that will help.

May your pole always be bent! Dave
