The bass fishing has been just
outstanding this year. One comment this week from a Joe
Knoll was that they are as easy as panfish. Many 18" fish
were caught this week. Danny Peterson an 11 year old caught
a 19" yesterday. Leeches and bobbers or crankbaits caught
many fish. Paul Hrvol and his boys boated many fish in the
17-19 inch range. Last Saturday
and Sunday the muskie bite heated up big for a couple of
days. Dan Wojtusik (member of the Muskie Classic winning
team) and John Meyer from Louisville, Co boated 14 fish in
four days. Dan's brother Mike came up for a day and boated a
44, one of the 14. Dan boated a 52 (a personal best) and a
50.5 while John boated two 49's. The 14 fish averaged 43
1/3". Brian and Mike Schlenger boated three fish in the high
30's and Mark Bergeron boated a 40 and a 38. Joe Knoll
boated a 36.
Walleye were caught early in the week
on main lake humps on crawlers. It seemed the fish were more
finicky later in the week.
May your pole always be bent! Dave
