The last week was filled with some large
mayfly hatches that have now slowed down. We've had some
quality fish caught and a visit from a porcupine. Brennan
Boyd who's only 3 from Peru, IN caught a 24" walleye with a
little help from his dad and mom on a crankbait trolling.
Chris Gerber from Dayton, OH caught a 20" trolling.
Smallmouth action was still hot close to
shorelines. The Juday's from Noblesville, IN had four fish
that were trophy material between 18 -191/2". Cindy of
course caught the 19 1/2.
We had a few muskie make mistakes this
week. Scott Ralston from Frankfort, IL boated a 43" Thursday
evening. Last Monday at 3:30 yours truly managed to boat a
42 1/2. Kevin Juday boated a 36" on Wednesday. One of the
fish came off the shoreline and the other two were weed
fish. Several smaller northern were caught while fishing for
muskie last week that were 24-28 inches. The water temps
have hit the 70s and the action should be getting better and
better.
May your pole always be bent! Dave
