Wind and Weather Doesn't Let Up

2004-06-25

Boy, if you thought last week's weather was bad, this past week was even colder. The wind remained gusty. John Gunderman and family continued to catch walleyes in the evening on a slip bobber. Norm Sunness from cabin #1 told me his group caught over 300 walleyes this week. Many were the 12-13 inch class though. Keith Rittenberry caught a 21.5 inch walleye rigging with leeches. Keith also managed to catch quite a few smallies this week. Jan Richman and Steve Hendrickson managed to get their limits fairly easily.

The wind made it difficult to try main lake transition spots. The cold weather has led to little to report on the muskie action as well. Next week looks like a different story with highs supposedly getting into the 80's. We'll believe it when we see it.

Hope you caught your fish this week. Dave
