Up and Down Action Continues

2003-07-23

The bite continues to be up and down for the most part. Bass fishing seems to be the most consistent with the fish willing to hit crayfish color crankbaits. A few walleye have been caught by bass fishermen with these same lures. Jeremy Lowth (age 9) caught a 40" muskie with this same presentation.

Last week David Kretchmer boated his biggest fish a 51" muskie. Willie Hall and Jim Carow each boated a 48. Five large northern over 40" were boated last week, more than we normally get all season over 40.

Walleye are being caught most consistently on main lake humps with a crawler rig. We're still having temps at night in the 40's. These temps may explain the lack of appetite. Dave
