Strong storms moved
through last night after two days of clouds and rain. This
low pressure system has slowed the walleye bite a bit.
Some nice fish were caught last week. Bill Johnson
released a 26 inch walleye. His daughter Melanie released
a 23 and a 22. Their group did well with slip bobbers and
leeches. Deep during the day and shallow in the evening
has produced fish consistently.
Joan Johnson caught her biggest smallie of all time a 19
1/2 incher last week. Rick Jakaitis got one that size as
well. I believe both were on leeches. The bass have been
easy to catch off rocky points.
Northern have still been biting consistently on floating
rapala's trolled or cast in and around weed beds. A few
musky have been sited but none boated recently. Some fish
are starting to relate to the rock reefs. Water temps are
around 68 on open water. The musky action is about to pick
up to another level. Dave at Everett Bay Lodge
