Slip Bobbers and Big Walleye

2003-06-15

Slip bobbers with a leech drifted over shallow shelves near islands produced an outstanding walleye week for Todd and Brad Betterley's crew in cabin 5. Todd's largest was a 29 and Brad's was a 24. Quite a few 20 to 24 inch fish were caught by those two. Brad and Ryan Ayer in cabin 8 caught fish slow trolling light rigs in weeds. Ryan caught two 24's. Dale Rutherford caught a 4 pounder as well.

The bass are still real active in shallow as are the northern. We didn't have any active musky fishing this past week so not a lot to report yet. Water temps are still in the mid sixties. I've heard the musky have started to hit topwaters in shallow bays, but I haven't witnessed it first hand.

Mayflies have started to hatch. Fish can be caught amongst them with crankbaits. Dave at Everett Bay Lodge
